Question Details
- Question:
- Hello,
I am interested to research the Whistleblowing Policy and how effective it is in regard to the reporting procedures of abuse? This is for the project for the Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care that I am undertaking. I believe that the Welsh Assembly Government are looking into this area and questioning the effectiveness of procedures for reporting abuse but am unable to find anything on this. Please could you advise me of any developments or resources on this.
Regards,
Anna

- Thank you for using Ask Cymru.
The Welsh Assembly Government’s website has a link to the full text document ‘Procedures for whistleblowing in schools and model policy’. This is a guidance document produced by the Assembly. (Welsh Assembly Government Circular No.036/2007 published December 2007.). This is the only published document I can find on their site and specifically relates to schools.
Cut and paste the following to access the document:

If the Health and Social Services department are currently working on a similar document it would be worth you contacting them directly.

It may also be worthwhile looking at the Wales Council for Voluntary Action’s Whistleblowing Policy aimed at charities and voluntary organisations.
